This drum is our absolute favorite.  It's almost impossible to stop from getting up and dancing when playing this drum.  It sounds like a real drum, not a toy. well... maybe that's because it is a real drum! (when I was just used to the sound of toy-drums).  I would wait until the kids are older though before purchasing it, because it will break when toddlers step on it (seems to be inevitable with toddlers - we recommend the solid-wood drum by Plan Toys for toddlers)
