	Our favorite diaper 08/27/2010

We really love the GroBaby (and now GroVia) diapers! We've been using them since our daughter was a month old (and weighed enough) and she's 6 months now. We've never had a leak. They's easy to launder since the insert snaps out, we can put stained inserts in the sun for 15 minutes and they're white again (I've had problems with stain removal in some all-in-one diapers since the material is all sewn in). We had a problem with smells in the diapers, but then we switched to the tiny bubbles detergent and haven't had any smell issues since. When the diaper is dirty, you do need to change the shell and insert, but when it's wet, usually I can just change the insert. We even use this overnight with a booster (11 hours straight) and we have never had a leak or urine soaking through. Our baby is on the tall/skinny side, but we're still on the first rise at 6 months, so I do think they'll last until she's out of diapers. My only compliant (which is true of most cloth diapers) is that they are a little bulky, especially when the baby is young. Some of the sized diapers are trimmer. Also, although the aplix stays in place well, the diapers tend to attack eachother in the washing machine. The company has fixed this with their new line and the GroVia is slightly trimmer. Since these are one-size fits all, they really pay for themselves in a few months.

They don't leak, they seem to stand up to wear pretty well (and the velcro they use is a million times better than aplix) but I just don't like them. Unlike other covers, the mesh inside these holds the smell of pee until they are washed so you really have to change them at every change. And the snap-in soaker to me is more gimick than useful. Just not good value. For the same amount of money I'd rather buy a true AIO or pocket or pick up a few covers and prefolds.
